Horsforth Churches Together wins Heart Of Horsforth Award!

Individuals and community groups were presented with their Heart of Horsforth Awards at the full Council meeting on Thurs 30th January, acknowledging their exceptional work in the community.

We are delighted that the Community Award (one of the 5 different awards) was presented to Horsforth Churches Together for the part it plays in the community of Horsforth.

Cllr Simon Dowling said of Horsforth Churches Together: “Whenever anything is happening they are involved somewhere, whether it be the Gala, Walk of Witness or the Farmers’ Market. This organisation supports and works with everyone in our community from the youngest to the eldest. They epitomise what bringing community together is all about.

Originally the awards were to be presented at the Christmas Market in December but high winds meant the event had to be a smaller affair indoors, so the presentation was moved to January.

Cllr Dowling said: “There are many organisations in Horsforth that make a huge difference and tonight we have only seen a handful. If you are aware of any other organisations that you know that are deserving of these awards please do nominate. Don’t wait till October to start nominating – you can do it now!”

You can make your nomination via the Horsforth Town council website.
