Can you imagine finding yourself far from home in strange surroundings and a completely different culture?
There are many people like this seeking refuge and asylum in our country and city.
Are you interested in how we in Horsforth can do more to help?
HOW CAN HORSFORTH DO MORE TO BE A GOOD NEIGHBOUR?
Tuesday 4th October 7.30pm at The Grove Methodist (small upper hall)
Do join us at this open meeting to explore together how we in Horsforth can show solidarity, reach out, and offer support and welcome to our neighbours who find themselves in a strange land.
There are many good things already going on including people hosting Ukrainians and the friendship group at a local hotel where 120 men are staying and other ways of showing our support for refugees and asylum seekers, but could we do more, both individually and collectively from our lovely town of Horsforth? Could we work towards becoming a town of Sanctuary?
Rose McCarthy (Refugee Support Worker and volunteer) together with others will help us to explore these topics together.
